Melbourne Diaries

Day 1 & 2:

Hello Down-undah!

Finally after a marathon flight, a friend and some xx later, I reached the destination du jour, Australia! The flight was endless, the food bad, but the excitement was palpable! I was finally on my much awaited vacation with my family. And my fam is actually fun! So here I am in Melbourne with my cousins, having the time of my life within 2 days of my arrival!
So today on my first official day in Melbourne I was taken to the fabulous Chapel street in downtown Melbourne. Its this street with gorgeous shops on either side, that sell some amazing, much wanted clothes and some droolworthy cuisine as well. The weather was drizzly and windy all day, but there is something refreshing about walking around in such weather! A welcome change form the perpetual Indian summer.
After a walk down the street, we had an oriental lunch at this restaurant called Oriental Teahouse. The place is known for the different kinds of teas they have to offer, right from ginger lemon tea to strawberry cream.
So my lunch consisted of a serving of dumpling and spring rolls, complete with sweet sour Raspberry Lime tea. The place was really warm and cosy and had nice interiors. As far as I am concerned, if a Chinese restaurant doesn't have a dragon anywhere in decor, its a win win!
Post lunch, desert was a cupcake at this small bakery on Chapel street for my too sweet tooth. That little cupcake was a total sugar crash! I spotted here, large cakes that looked like a cupcake that was freaky and cute at the same time. Can you imagine the amount of frosting on that? That will take a good one week to burn!
As far as food goes, I was a happy girl! Where I wasn't particularly ecstatic was the shopping. The clothes here are really trendy but you need to pay a hefty price for them. So I found myself shopping with my eyes and eating with my hands.
All in all, my first official day in Melbourne was great, with new fashion finds and amazing food. Looking forward to many more days of fun, food and fashion!

Tada!!
