Day 9,10.11,12
Christmas is finally officially here after a long build-up. Come christmas, and the city lights up, and the shopping for gifts begin. Night shopping is big here, the one day the shops are open 24 hours making it convenient for last minute shoppers and night birds. So since I am both of the above, I went night shopping at one of the biggest malls in Melbourne called Chadstone. I love the concept of night shopping. India should embrace this concept and this should happen more often.
The last few days also included a picnic at the botanical gardens on an awesome sunny day and a beach visit on a rather hot day that left me with a sunburn and a tan both. I love these outdoorsy activities, and even though the weather here is so fickle, the weather is almost always pleasant. The beach was at a suburb called Mornington that was a pleasant hour drive away. This was also where I had a traditional Italian meal complete with a nutella pizza. Yummy indeed.
Yesterday included a trip to downtown Melbourne to the Crown Casino. The walk around Yarra river and crown was very nice and picturesque. Today is christmas, and after a gift opening session by the christmas tree, my family and me plan to have a quiet day indoor complete with cheesy films and traditional food.
Heres to a good day. Merry Christmas peeps!
